PERSONAL CONNECT WITH LEADERSHIP
I had a friend named Larry. You know Larry was a talented young man. I've know him since middle school. Now before I even meet I'm give a little background on me. I was 250 pounds really quiet little fat kid. I was good and had the best grades in all my classes. I knew what I was doing in school.... well I wasn't that social and didn't really know how to make friends. Since most of my old elementary school friends didn't wanna stay friends with the same old kids. The whole sixth grade I didn't talk to anyone. The seventh grade was quiet for me till Larry came along. This is how it started
Teacher: Larry I need you to sit upfront with Jonathan. (Larry walks up and sit down right next to me) Larry: What's up? Me: Hey. From there on out I started to talk more and more. Others started to notice me. I started to find a group of friends that I could chill with after school and also hangout with on the weekends. This guy Larry, he was a really lay back guy. He did what he wanted. He didn't really care what anyone thought of him. He listen to music that most people didn't like or listen to. When others ask him what is he listen to he simply say Larry: Don't worry about man. He never followed anyone that was his thing, chase after anyone, or try to be like someone he wasn't . He just be him self since the day I knew him till this day. Everything I do is for me, not for anyone but me. if someone likes what I'm doing that's cool, if you dislike what I do... its not really gonna bother me. |
POSITIVE Leaders? In our society we have leaders, internet sensations, local leaders, and global leaders. There are three specific types of leaders who take a toll on the youth and the generation. Those three would be internet sensation, famous people, and local leaders. Some of these three leaders are good and some are a bad influence.
Our internet sensation such as Chief Keef, Lil Bibby, and Lil Herb aren't so much a good influence, expect when it comes to showing that gangbanging and selling drugs is the only way to "make it out the hood". They've taken a toll on the generation and not a very good one. Listen to a few of their songs, its a reflection on what they see and do in their own lives. The youth hears and see the music videos, soaking up what they say wanting to do the same as them. The youth wants to follow in their footsteps. If we want more positive leaders then we should start by creating a few into the internet. Now I'm bring in the sneaker game. To start off with Kanye West has the biggest influence on the sneaker game. Any shoe he wears will most likely buy em and try to resell for a higher price then bought just cause Kanye West wore the same shoe. Now famous people don't really have a big influence on the youth or generation, but the music has same what on an impact. Such as Rick Ross, Lil Wanye, and Nickie Manja they really don't have such a good influence on the generation. Most people say (including myself) their music is plain out terrible. It tells nothing but lyrics that make no sense. its trash. One thing I always tell my self is "Why be like everyone else?". I'm lead never follow. Don't walk in someone else footsteps make your own. Nothing is easy in life but that's what is going to make you different, hard work. You do your thang and be successful let others see how successful you are. Be your self. Don't let others tell you how strong or weak you are. One simply quote can and will sum up this essay...."Lead never follow." Do as you please. Have a positive effect on things you do. Don't change your self to fit in. |
